Our patron, Hilary Bevan Jones, provides a wonderful source of knowledge, expertise and support. Her experience in film and TV industries has been invaluable to helping Watersprite grow quickly and in the right direction.
Hilary started her career at the BBC working as Assistant Floor Manager on classics such as Black Adder, Not The Nine O’Clock News and Dick Emery. She is now a leading Independent Drama Producer with credits including Red Dwarf, Cracker, The Secret World of Michael Fry, Butterfly Collectors, May 33rd, To the Ends of the Earth, and the multi-award winning conspiracy thriller State of Play.
As part of the Make Poverty History campaign, she produced The Girl in the Café for HBO and the BBC, which won a number of awards including three Primetime Emmys.
In 2006 she was made Chairman of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the first woman in its 60 year history to ever hold this position.
In 2008 she moved into feature films producing The Boat That Rocked, written and directed by Richard Curtis and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy and Rhys Ifans. She is currently producing a short film called The Clear Road Ahead for Film4.
Hilary has won a number of industry awards including The Sony Women in Film and Television award for Contribution to the Media.
