Our submissions procedure

Over the nine previous editions of the festival, Watersprite has received submissions from 95 countries across the world. We accept films across the three genre categories of fiction, documentary and animation. All films are automatically considered for five technical awards: Directing, Cinematography, Performance, Editing, Production Design and Sound Design. Filmmakers can also, if they wish, have their submissions considered for the Original Film Music and Screenplay awards. See the FilmFreeway link below for more detail on what is required to be considered for these categories. Lastly, there is the special Watersprite Impact Award for a film with a clear humanitarian subject matter that critically engages audiences, raises awareness about an issue and allows viewers to reflect on the importance and social impact of the topic that is presented, serving either as a call for change or a way of highlighting the details of a current problem.

This year, Watersprite Film Festival proudly accepted entries via FilmFreeway.com, the world's best online submission platform. FilmFreeway offers free HD online screeners, unlimited video storage, digital press kits, and more.
